The Glenrothes 42 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Only 1,134 bottles were filled.
Master Whisky Maker Laura Rampling selected four refill casks that were filled in May 1980. They were married in a single sherry-seasoned cask before bottling.
The nose is sun-ripened apricot, candied orange peel, sugared almonds and a little coriander seed. The palate is creamy, with brown sugar, honeycomb, vanilla custard and toasted almonds. The finish is long, with vanilla, toasted almonds, dried fruit and faint oak spice.
