This is an 18 year old Japanese single malt from the Suntory-owned Hakushu distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in the southern Japanese Alps, and the distillery uses spring water from the surrounding mountains.
The nose is ripe pear, dried mint and oregano with subtle smoke. On the palate come jasmine, mango and quince with a hint of menthol. The finish is long and pleasantly smoky, with a touch of bitterness.
