The Irishman Cask Strength 2022 (70cl, 54.9%)

The Irishman Cask Strength 2022 is the 14th annual release in Walsh Whiskey's Vintage Cask series, a run of cask strength Irish whiskeys that began in 2008. It is a blend of aged single malt and single pot still whiskey, both triple-distilled. Matured in ex-bourbon casks that founder Bernard Walsh chose by hand, it is non chill-filtered and bottled at its natural strength of 54.9%. The release is limited to 6,100 bottles. The nose offers green apple and pear, then cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. The palate brings apple blossom, honeycake and nutty spices, and the finish is long and warming with walnut, chocolate and toasted oak.
