An Irish single pot still whiskey aged for 12 years, produced at the Midleton distillery in County Cork.
It matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks, which give it spiced aromas and a sherry fruitiness on the palate. Redbreast's history goes back to 1903, when John Jameson & Son agreed to supply new make spirit to the wine and spirit importer Gilbeys.
The aroma is spicy and fruity with toasted wood. The palate is full and silky, balancing spice, fruit, sherry and toasted notes, and the finish is long.
