The Kurayoshi 18 Year Old is a Japanese malt whisky made by Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture. Spirit brought in from Scotland is combined with Japanese malted barley, reduced with purified Tottori water and matured in oak barrels for 18 years. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is slightly grassy, with buttered bread and aromatic oak. The palate brings fresh orange, black tea smokiness, a pinch of cumin and brown sugar. The finish is led by vanilla, with a lingering hint of smoke.
