The Macallan 12 Year 110 Proof is a Speyside single malt matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks, chiefly European oak from Jerez. It is bottled at 55% ABV, which is 110 proof.
The whisky is of natural colour and is not chill-filtered.
The nose opens with sticky dates, cherry compote, dried orange peel, cinnamon and cacao nibs, with oak spice and warm vanilla behind. The palate is full-bodied, with sultanas, stem ginger, dark chocolate-dipped espresso beans, star anise and mandarin zest. The finish is long and warming, with treacle toffee, mocha, sweet cinnamon and toasted oak.
