The Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak Cask is a single malt Scotch whisky from The Macallan, founded in 1824 in the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery is known for its oak cask programme and its attention to wood management and maturation.
The nose is crisp and sweet, with sultanas, apple blossom, a floral note and hints of sherry, then Calvados, tropical fruit and golden syrup. The palate is medium-bodied and firm, with hot pastries, marmalade, sultanas and peel, and barley sugar sweetness. The finish is of good length, with a solid oaky note.
