The Macallan Colour Collection 15 Years Old is a single malt from The Macallan's Colour Collection, a series celebrating natural colour that comes entirely from maturation in sherry-seasoned oak. It spent 15 years in a combination of European and American oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain.
The nose has dried fruits, raisins, figs, vanilla, orange peel and honey, with polished oak, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is smooth and rounded, with toffee, caramelised citrus, baked apple, milk chocolate and sherry-soaked dried fruit, plus ginger, cinnamon and roasted nuts. The finish is medium to long and gently spiced, with oak, cocoa, dried fruit and soft citrus zest.
