The Macallan Colour Collection 18 Years Old is a Speyside single malt from a distillery founded in 1824. The series celebrates the natural colour that comes entirely from maturation in sherry-seasoned oak.
This whisky spent 18 years in European and American oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain.
The nose is rich, with dark dried fruits, dates, figs, raisins, orange peel, polished oak, vanilla and dark chocolate, plus cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is velvety and full-bodied, with toffee, treacle, baked fruits, spiced oak, cocoa and roasted nuts, then espresso, clove and ginger. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, oak spice, dried fruits and soft citrus oils.
