The Macallan – Amber (70cl)

A single malt from The Macallan, in a 70cl bottle, and part of the 1824 Series. The series is built around natural colour, which is a feature of every Macallan single malt, and the colour and flavour deepen as you move up the range. This bottling was matured entirely in sherry-seasoned oak casks. The nose opens with floral notes and sweet citrus, then vanilla over freshly harvested grain, with caramelised apples and candyfloss coming forward as raisins and cinnamon recede. On the palate, fresh green apples and lemons mix with cinnamon and ginger, over a light touch of oak. The finish is light to medium, with soft fruit and cereal, and slightly dry.
