This is a limited release single malt from The Macallan, bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the sixth edition of the annual Classic Cut series, and was developed by Steven Bremner, Whisky Maker at The Macallan.
The 2022 edition combines European and American oak casks. European oak is traditionally linked with the distillery's sherry-seasoned casks and brings spice, nuts and depth, while American oak adds sweeter, creamier notes of vanilla, caramel and fruit.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with grapefruit, peach and apple, and the palate is creamy, led by fresh fruit and grapefruit with caramel and chocolate.
