The Macallan Vibrant Oak is the fourth release in the Harmony Collection, a series centred on maturation and the role of oak casks. It was created in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and is a limited edition at 44.2% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in American first-fill and refill sherry casks. The bottle and box take their design from Ayla, a character in the Cirque du Soleil show SPIRIT who is entwined with oak branches, with peacock feathers also appearing on the packaging.
The nose is intense vanilla and lime peel with fragrant pears and vanilla sponge. On the palate come vanilla panna cotta, buttery biscuit, toasted coconut, almond brittle, fresh apple and oak. The finish is medium in length, sweet and rich with vanilla.
