The Macallan Rare Cask 2022 Release is a single malt from Speyside, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle without an age statement.
It is made from European and American oak casks that were seasoned with sherry, chosen from less than 1% of the sherry-seasoned casks maturing at the distillery.
The tasting notes describe a nose of dried fruit, raisins and vanilla, with fresh citrus, dark chocolate and soft spice. The palate is silky, with ripe and dried fruit, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted oak and cocoa. The finish is long and warm, balancing sweetness, spice and wood.
