The Macallan – Rare Cask

The Macallan Rare Cask is a Speyside single malt matured in a high proportion of first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks, both Spanish and American. The deep colour comes from those casks alone, with no colouring added. On the nose there is dried fruit, vanilla, chocolate, oak and spice, with raisins and orange peel clearly present. The palate is full and silky, with caramel and honey sweetness, cinnamon and nutmeg, dark chocolate and a touch of toasted oak. The finish is long, with warm spices and fruity notes that linger.
