The Maltman Islay Haven 14 Year Old (59.9%)

Islay Haven is a 14 year old Islay single malt bottled by the independent bottler The Maltman. It is a vatting of three casks, each at least 14 years old, which were married and bottled in 2022 at a cask strength of 59.9% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered, has no added colouring and was filled into 1146 bottles. The nose shows charred wood, oatcakes and overripe bananas. On the palate come salty liquorice, salmiak and peat smoke, with subtle spice such as cinnamon later on. The finish is very long and warming, with pepper and citrus and the familiar Islay character.
