The Old Malt Cask Mortlach 14 Year Old 2008/2022 (53.6%)

This is a single cask Mortlach from Speyside, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2022 at 14 years old. Hunter Laing selected it for the Old Malt Cask range, and it is bottled at 53.6%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose brings dark fruit, spices, toasted nuts and a hint of leather, with dried apricot, caramel and a touch of oak sweetness. On the palate it is rich and full, with the meaty character Mortlach is known for, alongside sherry notes, dark chocolate, cinnamon and sweet liquorice. The finish is long and warming, with a complex dryness balanced by sweetness.
