The Singleton of Dufftown – 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from The Singleton of Dufftown, a Speyside distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It was relaunched to take the place of the Singleton of Auchroisk. The whisky is a rich amber with mahogany highlights, medium to full in body, with sweet fruity notes and a lingering warmth. The nose opens with polished wood and toasted nuts, followed by baked apples, soft brown sugar and a mossy note. On the palate come sweetness and crunchy nuts, then fruity richness with brown sugar and espresso coffee. The finish is medium to long, drying and crisp, with a sweetly nutty chew.
