This is a 53 year old single malt Scotch whisky from The Singleton of Dufftown, bottled at 40.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Paragon of Time collection.
It matured for more than five decades in a single hand-picked hogshead, and the bottles are individually numbered. The colour is golden brown, and the body is light.
The nose opens with rose water and a little candle wax, then tropical and berry fruits over dried lavender or scented leather. The palate is sweet and fruity, with dried figs and hints of toffee, a freshness that cools the mouth, and dried fruits that grow richer. The finish is long, sweet and drying, warming, with a faint smokiness and a hint of ginger.
