The Singleton of Glen Ord 16 Year Old Deep Charred Casks is a Highland single malt distilled at Glen Ord, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is aged for 16 years and finished in deeply charred oak casks.
The heavy charring brings layers of caramelised sugar alongside the fruity, malty character of the Glen Ord spirit.
The nose has baked apples, caramel, toasted oak, vanilla and gentle spice. The palate is smooth and full, with toffee, dark honey, roasted nuts, ripe orchard fruit and warming oak char. The finish is long, soft and warming, with lingering sweetness and subtle smoky oak.
