The Six Isles Batch Strength is a blended malt Scotch whisky that brings together single malts from six island regions: Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Orkney and Arran. Ian Macleod Distillers bottled it at 58% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring.
Each batch is put together by hand and varies slightly in character from one to the next.
The nose has peat smoke, seaweed and campfire ash, with caramel, honey and ripe stone fruit. The palate is full and oily, smoky at first, with roasted malt, toffee and salted caramel; a few drops of water bring out chocolate, orange peel and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with smoke, oak, salt and a little spice.
