The Six Isles Rum Cask Finish (46%)

The Six Isles Rum Cask Finish is a blended malt Scotch whisky made from single malts of Islay, Jura, Mull, Orkney, Skye and Arran, given a second maturation in Caribbean rum casks. Ian Macleod Distillers bottled it at 46% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. The rum casks add notes of sugar cane, vanilla, coconut and banana to the island character of peat smoke and sea salt. The nose offers light peat smoke, honey, pineapple and dried mango, with toffee, ginger and sea salt. On the palate there is caramel, vanilla, brown sugar and tropical fruit, followed by peat, toasted oak and a hint of salt water. The finish is long and warming, with smoke, molasses and a touch of citrus.
