This Aultmore is a nine-year-old single malt from Series 3 of The Whisky Cellar, bottled at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in October 2011 and bottled in August 2021, with 739 bottles produced.
Aultmore's heavy new-make spent its whole maturation in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt made from American oak, and the whisky has a burnished copper colour.
The nose is creamy mocha, barley sugar, dark fruits and butterscotch. The palate brings condensed milk, freshly roasted Arabica coffee beans, California raisins and peanut brittle. The finish is sweet, mouth-filling and creamy, and lingers long.
