The Whistler Smoky Blended Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 48%)

This is the first blended malt from The Whistler, an Irish whiskey also known as The Good, The Bad And The Smoky. It combines single malts first matured in bourbon barrels, then blended and finished for at least 10 months in 125-litre peated casks. According to the distillery, this gives a sweet bonfire character, and the whiskey is drawn from three corners of the Irish plains. It is bottled at 48% without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose has bonfire smoke, vanilla, caramel and orchard fruit. The palate brings herbal spice, toasted vanilla, coastal saltiness and rich smoke, and the finish is sweet with cereal and dry spice.
