This is an Irish blended malt from The Whistler, a project of the Cooney family, who turned a former car dealership in County Meath into the Boann Distillery. It is a tribute to spaghetti Westerns and the first blended malt in the Whistler range.
Three single malts from three Irish distilleries were blended in ex-bourbon casks, then matured in 125-litre Laphroaig quarter casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
Golden in the glass, it has a nose of bonfire smoke, bourbon sweetness and a light saltiness. The palate shows glowing embers and herbal spice, with soft vanilla and fruit. The finish is smoky, with gentle spice and a grainy sweetness.
