The Yamazaki 12 Year 100th Anniversary Limited Edition

The Yamazaki 12 Year 100th Anniversary Limited Edition is a Japanese single malt from Yamazaki, Japan's first malt distillery, founded in 1923. It marks the centenary of Suntory Whisky, and every malt in it is at least 12 years old. The deep copper tones of the bottle pay tribute to Yamazaki as the birthplace of Japanese whisky, and the box carries traditional Japanese calligraphy. The colour is pure gold. On the nose come peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove, candied orange, vanilla and Mizunara oak. The palate offers coconut, cranberry and butter, and the long finish brings sweet ginger and cinnamon.
