Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Yamazaki distillery, Japan's first and oldest, established in 1923 on the edge of Kyoto. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky brings together malts matured in white oak casks, with others aged in sherry and mizunara casks adding further layers of flavour.
Peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove, candied orange, vanilla and mizunara show on the nose. The palate offers coconut, cranberry and butter, and the long finish carries sweet ginger and cinnamon.
