This is a 16 year old Croftengea from Thompson Bros, a peated single malt made at Loch Lomond. It was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV, with no artificial colouring.
It comes from two recharred barrels and was bottled in an outturn of 479 bottles.
The nose is autumnal, with lemon peel, bonfire smoke, a hayloft, cinnamon, mint leaves and liquorice. On the palate there are charred pineapple pieces, leaves, smoke, damp forest floor, fresh tobacco and lemon curd. The finish is long, sweet and smoky, with vegetal notes.
