Thompson Bros Williamson 15 Year Old Blended Malt (70cl, 57.1%)

This is a 15 year old blended malt from Thompson Bros, made from Williamson, distilled in 2010 on Islay. It spent time in a refill butt, then two years in a Malaga cask, bringing together the traditions of Andalucia and Islay. It is bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 342 bottles were released. The nose is tarry Islay fishing ropes with walnut oil, maple syrup, speculoos, muscovado and smoked fish. The palate is stewed tea, date and ginger puree and dark miso, with tarry, heavy smoke. The finish is punchy, with cloves, mace and briny capers, and grows drier.
