Tobermory – 2008 13 Year Old Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited (47.5%)

This is a 13 year old Tobermory single malt distilled in 2008, bottled by Càrn Mòr in its Strictly Limited range. It is limited to 1,554 bottles, at 47.5% ABV, and like all bottlings in the range it is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The whisky was finished in a new oak cask, which adds fresh, caramel notes to the grassy, maritime character of Tobermory. The nose is a salty caramel breeze with buttery pastry and exotic fruit. The palate brings salted caramel and almonds on buttery brioche, juicy pineapple, then grassy, maritime notes. The finish is medium to long, with tropical pineapple and a little caramel.
