Tobermory 42 Year Old is a single malt distilled on the Isle of Mull and aged for 42 years. It was released in 2016 at cask strength, 95.4 proof (54.5%), with no added colouring and without chill-filtration. Only 650 bottles were filled.
The nose has dark chocolate, tobacco, sherry-soaked raisins, roasted chestnuts and a touch of liquorice root. The palate brings roasted chestnut, oily walnut, dry oak, cherry, redcurrant, thick treacle and cracked black pepper.
Dry spices linger on the finish, balanced by chocolate-covered raisins.
