Togouchi Premium is a blended whisky made by Chugoku Jozo. It is blended in Japan from Scottish single malts and Canadian grain whisky, and aged for 8 years in ex-sherry oak casks.
Maturation takes place in a disused railway tunnel in the town of Togouchi, where temperature and humidity stay steady all year.
The nose is soft and sweet, with vanilla, corn and icing sugar, and lighter touches of sherry, spice and caramel. The palate is sweet and delicate, with corn, caramel and white pepper, and a faint bitter note of caramelised sugar. The finish is short, sweet and spicy.
