Tomatin – 2011 Bourbon Discovery Gordon & MacPhail (Bottled 2023) (70cl, 43%)

This is a Tomatin single malt distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail. It belongs to the Bourbon profile of the Discovery range and is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Maturation in bourbon casks lets the American oak work on Tomatin's fruity spirit, bringing tropical fruit, orchard sweetness and soft vanilla. The nose offers ripe tropical fruit with green apple and tangerine, then lemon peel and roasted peanuts before soft vanilla. On the palate come smooth pear, citrus and white peach, with malted biscuit and melon balanced by black pepper. The finish is medium-bodied, with mature oak and subtle dried herbs.
