Tomatin 36 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for 36 years entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. It is a limited edition, released in batches that each carry an individual batch number, and is non-chill filtered. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has raisin, fig jam, old leather, roasted hazelnuts and cinnamon, with polished oak and heather. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, sherry-soaked cherries, clove and dried apricots, over subtle herbal tones and toasted wood. The finish is very long and warming, with fruitcake, old oak and a trace of tobacco leaf.
