The second edition of Tomintoul 40 Year Old, a Speyside single malt distilled in 1974 and limited to 165 individually numbered bottles. It matured in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads and was bottled at a cask strength of 43.1% ABV, with natural colour and without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle. Master Distiller Robert Fleming selected the whisky, which is presented in a hand-crafted crystal decanter. The nose is complex, with honeysuckle, preserved fruits, orange zest, butterscotch, cocoa powder, maple syrup and oak spices. The palate brings manuka honey, cinder toffee, coffee grounds, Turkish delight, candied cloves, sandalwood and tobacco. The finish is warming and long, with chocolate eclairs, cinnamon, cappuccino foam, liquorice, toasted oak and tonka bean.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
