Tormore – 12 Years Old (46%)

Tormore 12 Years Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46%. It is not chill-filtered, which gives a slightly richer, creamier mouthfeel. The whisky is matured largely in first-fill bourbon casks, joined by Cream Sherry casks that add a light Pedro Ximénez sweetness while keeping a nutty character. New, toasted and charred casks build a touch of spice and a long finish. It is described as tasting of peach and pear with vanilla fudge, rather like peach crumble with vanilla custard, with plenty of orchard fruit and a rich, nutty flavour.
