This is a 16 year old Speyside single malt from Tormore, bottled at 46% ABV and not chill-filtered, which gives a slightly richer, creamier texture.
It is double matured, with a deliberately light touch from the wood. A small share of Oloroso sherry casks of French oak adds darker, nuttier, almost savoury notes and spice, set against the sweetness from American oak Cream Sherry casks.
The palate is fruity and layered, with spiced, buttered brioche, demerara fudge and a fruitiness close to blueberry jam.
