This is a 9 year old Tormore single malt, distilled in 2011 and bottled at 58.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle for the Best Dram range. It was finished in a first-fill ruby port cask, and only 244 bottles were filled.
Best Dram bottlings are chosen in person by whisky expert Michel Reick.
The nose has sweet, ripe red fruit such as sweet cherries, with wild berry jam, vanilla, red berry compote and old port. The palate is fruity and surprisingly dry, with cherries, blackberries, a little oak and more old port. The finish is dry, heavy and fruity-sweet, with some oak.
