Tullibardine – 20 Year Old 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel (2013) (70cl, 43%)

Tullibardine 20 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was distilled at Blackford, and the casks were chosen by master distiller John Black and his successors. The first-fill wood gives a waxy, polished-oak character, with a thick, almost waxy texture on the palate. On the nose it shows honeycomb, beeswax, dried mango, vanilla fudge and old oak. Thick honey, tropical fruit, custard, toasted almond and warm spice follow, and the finish is long and waxy, with vanilla, oak and a hint of dark chocolate.
