Tullibardine – 228 Burgundy Finish

This is a Highland single malt Scotch from Tullibardine, finished in Burgundy wine casks. The whisky first matures in ex-bourbon barrels, then moves into 228-litre Burgundy wine barriques for further maturation. The 228 in the name refers to the capacity of those casks. The nose offers red berries, vanilla and sweet malt, with subtle chocolate and oak. On the palate come ripe red fruit, creamy vanilla, malt, spice and gentle chocolate. The finish is warming and fruity, with lingering spice and oak.
