Drop 02 is a collaboration between Turntable Blending House and Dingle, bottled at 52% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a blend built around spicy Dingle single pot still whiskey, joined by three Scottish components chosen to bring out that spice. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered.
The blend is 41% Dingle from Oloroso hogsheads, 29% Balmenach single malt from first fill PX puncheons, 12% Blair Athol single malt from first fill rye barrels and 18% Loch Lomond grain whisky from first fill bourbon barrels.
The nose offers rich sherry, cigar spice, chocolate-covered raisins and marzipan. The palate recalls chocolate and walnut cake, then leather, tobacco and nutmeg. The finish is medium to long and spicy, with oat biscuit and raisins.
