Valdecuevas Verdejo 2023 Rueda

A dry white wine made from 100% Verdejo from some of the oldest and least productive vines on the estate, in the Pago de la Pardina vineyard at 700-800 metres above sea level. The vines grow on a very stony surface soil, which gives stable ripening and good water reserves at depth. The wine is vinified entirely in steel tanks, with skin maceration before pressing, followed by a long, cool fermentation and three months of ageing on the lees with regular stirring. Aroma, freshness, bite and minerality dominate. The colour is light gold with a greenish tint, with fresh notes of herbs, white peaches and apricots. It has good structure and bite, ending with harmony between fruit sweetness and mineral, slightly salty tones. Serve with salads, sushi, shellfish and steamed fish.
