Viña Marro Reserva 2019 Rioja

A red Rioja made entirely from Tempranillo, using grapes from the producer's own vineyards. After harvest and careful sorting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, then fermented separately in stainless steel tanks for 10 to 12 days at a controlled temperature of 28 to 32°C. After fermentation the wine is aged for 25 months in a blend of new and used French and American oak barrels. It has a deep red colour and initially seems a little closed, revealing after a while in the glass a complex bouquet of dark fruits, vanilla, tobacco and spices. The palate offers fullness and fruit concentration, with a balanced mix of black cherry, cocoa, tobacco and toasted oak notes. The tannins are mature and silky, contributing to a long, pleasant finish.
