A 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made to the wheated recipe of William Larue Weller, who in 1849 introduced the first bourbon to use wheat as its secondary grain instead of rye.
At a minimum of 12 years, it is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons, and it has a deep bronze colour.
The nose brings lanolin, almond, creamed corn and toasty vanilla. The palate is heavily wheated, layered and moderately sweet. The finish is long, oaky and intensely smooth.
