This is a single malt whisky from Wakatsuru, released as Sun Shine 1990 Red under the Wakatsuru Saburomaru name. Wakatsuru Shozou Distillery is a ji-whisky producer, a term meaning local whisky, similar to micro-distilling. It obtained its licence to distil whisky in 1953 and has made small amounts, on and off, ever since. The distillery stands in the city of Toyama, capital of Toyama Prefecture in Japan, on the Sea of Japan coast in the Chūbu region of central Honshu.
