Waterford Single Farm Origin Lakefield Edition 1.1 is an Irish single malt in a 70cl bottle, made from barley grown on the Lakefield farm in County Laois. Waterford released its first whisky in 2020.
The spirit was matured for 3 years, 7 months and 28 days in a mix of casks: 46% first-fill American oak ex-bourbon, 23% virgin American oak, 16% French oak that held Vin Doux Naturel wine and 15% Premium French oak.
The nose brings vanilla, custard, apple, butter and chocolate. The palate is soft and lively, with shortbread, cloves, apple, pear and orange peel. The finish is of medium length, with vanilla and citrus.
