The Cheshire English Single Malt Whisky Second Release is an English single malt from Weetwood Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
It is made from English Maris Otter and Crystal malt. The casks are single-use ex-bourbon American oak quarter-casks, shaved, toasted and re-charred to a medium heavy degree, with a finish in European oak, ex-red wine and Sauternes casks.
The nose is fresh-cut grass with creamy vanilla and orchard fruit. The palate offers creamy malt and sweet dried fruit, and the finish is sustained and mellow, with ripe fruit, honey and a hint of smoke.
