Weller C.Y.P.B., short for Craft Your Perfect Bourbon, is an 8-year-old wheated Kentucky bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The specification was chosen by public vote, with more than 100,000 people deciding the mashbill, age, proof and warehouse placement. The bourbon was aged for eight years on the highest floors of the warehouses. It was named Best Kentucky Bourbon at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose is butterscotch and Cracker Jack, then orange peel, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is rich, with cherry, toffee, dark berries, allspice and spearmint. The finish is long and warm, with vanilla bean, oak and leather.
