A single cask German rye whiskey, made from local rye and spring water and distilled in 2015 with Scottish expertise. It was bottled in 2020 from cask number 93, at a cask strength of 53.6% ABV, in a 50cl bottle. The outturn was 339 bottles.
The rye matured in new American oak barrels, which brings together a European grain character and a bold American cask influence.
The nose offers rustic rye bread, toasted vanilla, sweet oak and warm baking spices. The palate is full-bodied and peppery, with caramelised sugar, dark cherry and oak tannins, and the finish is long, with lingering wood spice and dry rye cereal.
