Westland Colere 3rd Edition is an American single malt built around one barley variety, Pilot, a two-row spring barley grown in the Skagit Valley of Washington State. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for at least 41 months, 93% in refill Westland barrels and 7% in a second-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, with the refill wood chosen to keep the focus on the grain. 4,629 bottles were produced in June 2023.
The nose is bright, with lemon peel, ripe melon, herbal tea and toasted nuts. The palate has apple, orange, pear, banana and baking spices, and the finish is smooth and mid-length with vanilla, cinnamon and orange blossom.
