Westland – American Single Malt Whiskey (46%)

Westland American Single Malt is the distillery's flagship bottling, drawn from more than ten years of work on American single malt as a category. It is bottled at 46% ABV. The whiskey is matured for a minimum of 40 months in a mix of casks: new and used American oak, first-fill ex-bourbon, and first and second-fill ex-Oloroso hogsheads and butts. The grain bill combines Washington select pale malt, Munich, extra special, pale chocolate and brown malts, and Bairds heavily peated malt. The nose brings custard, marionberry compote, maple brittle and toasted marshmallow. On the palate come almond nougat, crème brûlée, black tea, white flower petals and malted milk balls.
